Reaction after the Russia U20 Whites - Russia U18 match in Sochi

29.05.2022
Following the semi-final of the 2022 Black Sea Cup between the Russia U20 Whites and the under 18 Russian national team, participants of the match shared their opinions.

Russia U20 senior coach Vladimir Filatov:

- I am very pleased that we kept a clean sheet. The opponents had chances, but our skaters blocked their shooting lanes and our goalkeeper was very solid. A great team job.

Russia U18 head coach Igor Efimov:

- The guys are trying. It was clear that the opponents are two years older than our players, however I praised them for their promising performance. We will continue fighting until the end. Tomorrow, we will fight for third place.

Russia U20 forward Maxim Velikov:

- I was a bit disappointed when I was told that I was going to play for the Whites, as I wanted to play against the U20 team. Nevertheless, I was focused when the match started. We're opponents on the ice and friends off it.

Russia U20 forward Tigran Yarulin:

- There is no difference whether you play for the Reds or Whites, we've been training together for a long time now after two weeks in Novogorsk. We should have played better in the final two minutes.
