27.05.2022
Following the dramatic match between the Russia U20 Reds and Whites at the 2022 Black Sea Cup, representatives of both teams spoke about the battle.
Senior Russia U20 Whites coach Vladimir Filatov:
- The main game is coming up for us tomorrow. Before the match started, we asked our players to play for the entire 60 minutes. Thankfully, we managed to win.
Russia U20 Whites defenseman Vladislav Sapunov:
- I can't remember the last time when I scored three goals! However, my hat-trick means nothing, we are continuing to work hard. I haven't achieved anything yet. I would like to thank my teammates for helping me and the coaching staff for the faith shown in me. Nevertheless, we didn't play very well in defence today, we need to improve in this regard.
Russia U20 Whites forward Grigory Osipov:
- We have positive emotions after this match. My goal? After receiving a pass from Maxim Korostelyov, I had the choice whether to shoot or make a further pass. I decided to shoot, and it proved to be the right decision. We are all really enjoying being here with the national team, we're showing our quality and we want to prove that we are capable of playing for our country.
Russia U20 Reds forward Alexander Volkov:
- It was an emotional game full of mistakes. When you play in the national team jersey, you give everything on the ice. As the coaches always tell us, there are no friends on the ice.
