Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin presented Russian Ice Hockey Federation President Vladislav Tretiak with his "For services to the Fatherland" II degree award.

Russian Ice Hockey Federation President Vladislav Tretiak:

- Dear Vladimir! Thank you for this high award. I would like to share this title with Anatoly Tarasov, Viktor Tikhonov and with all those who are not alive now but have done a lot for ice hockey in our country. Ice Hockey is our national product, and we are good at playing it! We will try and make you and the entire Russian nation happy with our performances. Thank you for supporting our sport.
