2022 Olympic Games. Semi-final. ROC - Sweden. A statistical look

We take a look at the statistics to emerge from the semi-final of the 2022 Olympic Games between the ROC men's ice hockey team and Sweden (2:1 SO):

- For the first time in Olympic knockout history, our senior national team participated in a penalty shootout. In the past, our players had competed in four World Championship shootouts;

- Goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov made his 10th appearance for the senior national team. Furthermore, this was his maiden shootout win on the international stage. He is indeed the 18th goaltender to tally a shootout victory for our senior national team;

- 20-year-old forward Arseniy Gritsyuk is the 30th player of our team to score a winning penalty shot;

- Forward Vadim Shipachyov played in his 140th game for the senior national team. Only Maxim Sushinsky (153), Alexander Prokopyev (156), Sergei Mozyakin (165) and Ilya Kovalchuk (179) have participated in more matches for the senior national team than Vadim;

- In 100 games for the senior national team, defenseman Yegor Yakovlev has registered 21 (5+16) points. He is the 10th defenseman of the Russian team to play in a minimum of 100 matches;

- Forwards Sergei Andronov (8+8) and Nikita Gusev (26+59) both made their 70th appearance for the senior national team;

- Defenseman Nikita Nesterov (12+12) and forward Mikhail Grigorenko (25+23) both made their 60th appearance for the senior national team;

- Forward Anton Slepyshev has picked up 18 (10+8) points in 40 games for the senior national team.
