2022 Olympic Games. ROC - Czech Republic. A statistical look

We take a look at the statistics to emerge from the match between ROC and the Czech Republic (5:6 OT) in the men's ice hockey competition of the 2022 Olympic Games:
- This marked our team's 116th Olympic match. Furthermore, this was the first time when our senior national team lost in overtime in Olympic history;
- Until conceding the first goal during the opening period, our players hadn't conceded at the tournament across 132 minutes and 37 minutes of game time. Ivan Fedotov has broken the record for goalkeepers of our team at the Olympics since 1994, which was previously held by Evgeny Nabokov who didn't concede for 129 minutes and 55 seconds at the 2006 Games;
- Vyacheslav Voynov now boasts seven (2+5) Olympic points in his career, the same amount as Andrei Markov (1+6). Since 1994, no defenseman of our team has earned more Olympic points than the pair;
- Forward Nikita Gusev became the first player of our team to dish out three assists in one particular match against the Czechs. In the same game, Nikita Nesterov became the first defenseman of our team to tally two (1+1) points against the Czech Republic at the Olympics;
- Forward Vladimir Tkachyov has registered 19 (7+12) points in 40 appearances for the senior national team;
- Defenseman Alexander Elesin has picked up seven (3+4) points in 30 games for the national team;
- In his ninth game for the senior national team, forward Andrei Chibisov scored his first goal.
