Team ROC held a training match in Beijing

05.02.2022
In place of the cancelled friendly match on February 5 against Latvia, Team ROC instead held a training game.

The team is continuing to prepare for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

At the start of the training session, the players worked on special teams, before subsequently competing against each other in a two-way training match. The line combinations changed on numerous occasions during the game.

Head coach Alexei Zhamnov:

- We worked on our powerplay today. During our training match we used two schemes for both attacking and defensive ice hockey, each line had its own task. Yes, of course it would have been nice to play in a friendly game, but we can't do anything about the protocol which is in place. During our training games, we have been using the scheme which we are planning to play in accordance with at the competition. All teams are in the same boat when it comes to the cancelled friendly matches.

Sergei Plotnikov and Artyom Anisimov should join the group on February 7. Arseniy Gritsyuk? I would like him to show more of his capabilities, he needs to have more confidence and we're trying to assist him in this regard. We are satisfied with his progress.
