Reaction after beating the Czech Republic at the U20 Four Nations
13.11.2021
Following the 5:3 victory against the Czech Republic at the Four Nations tournament in Sweden, acting under 20 Russian national team head coach Vladimir Filatov and forward Semyon Demidov shared their emotions:
Acting under 20 Russian national team head coach Vladimir Filatov:
- Given the fact that the Czechs are a top team, we expected a difficult game. They like to compete in a modern, active manner, applying pressure on the opponents. Yegor Guskov's mistake in the second period? Anyone can make mistakes, he responded well in the third period and pulled off some wonderful saves. He has character. Tomorrow, it will be a tough match against our Swedish hosts, so we will now work on recovering in time.
Under 20 Russian national team forward Semyon Demidov:
- It was a challenging match for us, maybe we didn't quite have the right mindset. We were too relaxed at the start of the game. It was nice that I managed to score shorthanded, my shot was good and the goalkeeper did not see where I was aiming the puck. The coaches calmed us down after conceding two quick goals in the second period. Sweden tomorrow? We have to play our type of ice hockey, while taking advantage of our scoring opportunities. I'm enjoying participating in this competition, the facilities are good here.
