Workshop in Omsk Region

Between the 8th and 11th of July in Omsk, the All-Russian Workshop concerning the optimal model for the development of rural sports took place, an event organised by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Rural Youth, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of Omsk Region, the Siberian State University of Physical Culture and the Urozhai Physical Sporting Club from Omsk Region.

Almost 100 participants from 50 regions of the Russian Federation were representatives of executive authorities in the field of physical culture and sports, youth policy, regional branches of the Russian Union of Rural Youth, practitioners and scientists. The event was dedicated to the implementation of the All-Russian project concerning the development of sporting organisations in rural regions, with its work being based on the long-term experience of Omsk Region in the development of rural sports.

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) was represented by Mikhail Chekanov, the adviser to the president of the RIHF on the development of women's hockey, and Dmitry Polyanchikov, the head of the ice hockey technology department. RIHF specialists submitted proposals for the development of rural sports, focusing on the development of youth ice hockey in Russia.
