Russia won a bronze medal at the sledge hockey World Championship

In Ostrava, the Czech Republic, the senior Russian national sledge hockey national team claimed a bronze medal at the 2021 World Championship.

Russia confidently defeated South Korea 7:0 in the third place playoff to earn a medal at the competition.

Dmitry Lisov (4), Vladimir Rychkov, Andrei Sokolov and Nikolai Terentyev all scored in the match against the South Koreans, while goalkeeper Andrei Kasatkin stopped all 11 shots he faced to tally his third shutout of the tournament.

In the semi-finals, Russia conceded a narrow 1:2 loss to Canada, who were subsequently beaten 5:1 by the Americans in the final. The USA, Canada, Russia, South Korea and the Czechs have all secured qualification for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
