2021 World U18 Championship. Russia - Belarus - 5:2

In a tense battle, the under 18 Russian national team managed to defeat Belarus at the 2021 IIHF World U18 Championship, earning a hard-fought 5:2 victory to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.

Initially, Matvei Michkov, Danila Yurov and Artyom Duda opened up a confident three-goal lead for our team, but two quickfire markers from Ilya Morozov and Fyodor Nikolaenya suddenly got the Belarusians to within one after 32 minutes.

Nevertheless, with goalkeeper Sergei Ivanov in excellent form, Russia weathered the storm, before securing progression with two brilliant goals from Ivan Miroshnichenko and Vsevolod Gaidamak in the ensuing third period.

The semi-final will take place on May 6. The opponents will become known after the remaining quarter-finals have finished.
