Official RIHF statement

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) has carefully analysed a video which displayed a children's ice hockey coach teaching his players to participate in fights.

The RIHF officially declares that such actions do not correspond to the ideology, the spirit of raising children and the Red Machine National Development Program, which strictly prohibits such methods in relation to the coaching of youth players.

The RIHF closely monitors the activities of all ice hockey schools in Russia and will strictly suppress the non-observance of the methods of ice hockey and personal training of athletes.

The RIHF is conducting its own investigation of this episode. Material was sent to the RIHF Disciplinary Committee in order to check the coach's actions in terms of violation of the rules, regulations and the RIHF Code of Ethics. Based on the results of the investigation, the most stringent measures can be applied to the coach, up to and including the removal of his qualifications.
