The junior Russian national team arrived in Edmonton

The junior Russian national team has arrived in Edmonton, Canada ahead of the upcoming 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship which will take place between December 26 and January 5.
The team made the trip by initially flying from Moscow to Helsinki, before boarding a separate charter flight which travelled to Edmonton via two refuelling stops in Reykjavik (Iceland) and Goose Bay (Canada).
All members of the travelling squad will now undergo a four-day quarantine period and further medical tests before beginning the training process. Russia will compete in friendly matches against Slovakia (December 22) and Canada (December 24), subsequently starting out at the tournament on December 26 against the USA.
Group stage schedule:
December 26, Russia - USA, 05:30*
December 28, Czech Republic - Russia, 05:30
December 30, Austria - Russia, 05:30
December 31, Russia - Sweden, 05:30
The quarter-finals will be played on January 3, the semi-finals on January 5 and the medal games on January 6.
