National team general manager Roman Rotenberg:

- We traditionally summon the strongest players competing in Russia for the Channel One Cup. When forming the squad, we took club lines, age and individual statistics into account. The average age of this team is 25 years. The players, coaches and the Russian Ice Hockey Federation will do everything possible in order for the fans to feel a celebratory atmosphere at home.

National team head coach Valeri Bragin:

- Three goalkeepers and five lines of skaters have been called up, and all of them will receive the opportunity to showcase their ability. We have a good balance between experience and youth; four players in this team were born in 2000. Vadim Shipachyov is the most experienced player, and he is the captain. Unfortunately, a few leading players weren't available because of injury, but the guys in this team and the system we have should allow us to make up for those absences.
