An intense educational program concerning ice hockey has finished at the Sirius Educational Centre
It was held, with the support of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) and Nornickel, between October 19 and November 8. 94 players born in 2006 from Norilsk, Zapolyarny, Vladivostok and Krasnodar all participated in the event.
The findings of the latest scientific studies were taken into account when forming the program. All efforts of the teachers were aimed at improving the physical, tactical and technical capabilities of the children, with the players competing in daily training sessions on and off the ice while also playing in friendly matches.

Olympic national team goalkeeper coach Alexander Kolobkov, advisors to the RIHF executive director Yury Strakhov and Konstantin Rachkov, world champion Dmitry Frolov and honoured Master of Sport Sergei Nemchinov all followed the training process.
Advisor to the RIHF executive director Yury Strakhov:
- Our main goal is to monitor the trainings and tell the coaches how to improve the process. The children are training twice a day, working over their technical skills, tactics and their physical state. This took place with regard to choosing candidates for the under 16 Russian national team. Nevertheless, RIHF scouts and coaches will continue tracking the progress of players who aren't selected for the national side.
