National Program of Sporting Training for Ice Hockey approved by Ministry of Sport

The Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation has approved the National Program of Sporting Training for the Sport of Ice Hockey. The program was developed by specialists of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and the Federal Centre for the Training of the Sporting Reserve.
The program is one of the key elements of the Red Machine National Development Program, which was developed by RIHF specialists and implemented in ice hockey schools across Russia with the support of Norilsk Nickel.
Experts in the fields of scientific and methodological activity, general theory and methods of sporting training, well known coaches, representatives of Russian national teams were all used during the creation of the program, as well as medical workers, physiologists and psychologists.
The publication provides extensive material concerning various aspects of sporting training, updates regarding methodological approaches and a clear vector of anti-doping.
The first edition of the program was submitted for consideration to the Ministry of Sport at a meeting of the Expert Methodological Council in November 2019. Compared with the previous edition, additions and new sections were made to the current version, taking into account the recommendations of the Expert Methodological Council. The program is recommended as a model for organisations engaging in ice hockey training.
