In the quarter-finals of the 2020 IIHF World W18 Championship, the under 18 Russian women's national team comfortably defeated Sweden, earning an emphatic 4:0 triumph to advance to the Last Four.
In the first period, Kristina Glukharyova and Veronika Korzhakova handed Russia a two-goal lead, before Kristi Shashkina and Vita Ponyatovskaya - on the powerplay - added insurance goals in the third frame.
Goalkeeper Anna Alpatova stopped all Swedish shots she faced.
The Russians will now prepare to face the USA in the semi-final phase of the competition on January 1.
