2020 World W18 Championship. Russia W18 - Finland W18 - 4:2

In the third, and final, group stage match of the 2020 IIHF World W18 Championship in Slovakia, the under 18 Russian women's national team secured an important 4:2 victory against Finland.

Russia do finish in third place of Group A with four points. Canada (eight points) and the USA (six points) accupy the first two positions and qualify directly for the semi-finals, while both the Russians and Finns will now have to compete in the quarter-finals. Finland lost all three group games.

Polina Luchnikova, Kristi Shashkina (2) and Ilona Markova scored the four Russian goals, while goalkeeper Anna Alpatova stopped 28 of 30 Finnish shots.

The opponents for Russia in the quarter-finals are yet to be confirmed.
