In the concluding group stage match of the 2019 Hlinka/Gretzky Cup, the under 18 Russian national team defeated Slovakia 2:1 in overtime.

During the final minute of the second period, Nikita Buruyanov opened the scoring, but Slovakia equalised early in the third.

Nevertheless, three minutes into the ensuing overtime frame, Bogdan Trineev struck gold to secure a thrilling 2:1 victory!

On August 9, Russia will play Finland in the semi-final of the competition, with the puck set to drop at 20:00 Moscow time.
