A meeting between national team coaches

On July 24, a meeting took place between Russian national team coaches in Novogorsk, with the discussing being held around a round table. Head of the management group Roman Rotenberg, coaches of the senior, Olympic, junior, U18, U17 and U18 teams participated in the meeting alongside specialists working with the women's senior, junior, U18 and U16 teams.

The participants spoke about the development over the course of the upcoming season, plans for the campaign and preparation stages for key competitions. All management groups presented extended squad lists of national team candidates, tactical ideas and plans for the training camps.

Emphasis was put on preparation for the 2022 Olympic Games in China. The participants noted that all players have a chance to compete at the Olympics, so coaches should be focused on the development of young players. Next season, the amount of training camps will be increased, including those which are for individual positions.

Physical training coaches presented their plans for major competitions and spoke about the importance of different approaches for various age ranges. There was also an extra meeting between goalkeeping coaches who made a number of changes for the training process.

Head coach of the senior national team Alexei Kudashov and his assistant Anvar Gatiyatulin completed the meeting. They noted that all training plans are in accordance with the united program for Russian Ice Hockey Federation national teams.
