The Russian women's senior national team are preparing for the World Championship

In Novogorsk, the Russian women's national team have started preparing for the 2019 IIHF World Championship, which will be held in Finland between the 4th and 13th of April.

These following players have began training:

Goalkeepers: Valeria Merkusheva (Dynamo Saint Petersburg), Nadezhda Morozova (Biryusa Krasnoyarsk), Anna Prugova (Agidel Ufa).

Defenders: Maria Batalova, Anna Shibanova (both Agidel Ufa), Ekaterina Nikolaeva, Anastasia Chistyakova (both Dynamo Saint Petersburg), Nina Pirogova, Anna Savonina (both Tornado Dmitrov), Liana Ganeeva (SK Gorniy), Elena Provorova (SKIF), Darya Teryoshkina (Canada).

Forwards: Elena Dergachyova, Alyona Starovoytova, Anna Shokhina, Alevtina Shtaryova (all Tornado Dmitrov), Evgeniya Dyupina, Diana Kanaeva, Ekaterina Smolina (all Dynamo Saint Petersburg), Oksana Bratishcheva, Alexandra Vafina, Viktoriya Kulishova (all SKIF), Valeria Pavlova, Anna Timofeeva (both Biryusa Krasnoyarsk), Olga Sosina (Agidel Ufa), Fanuza Kadirova (SK Gorniy).

Russia will compete in Group A at the 2019 World Championship against Switzerland, Finland, Canada and the USA.
