Russian student national teams arrived in Krasnoyarsk for the Winter Universiade

On February 26, both the men's and women's Russian student national teams arrived in Krasnoyarsk for the 2019 Winter Universiade.
More than 200 Russian athletes for 11 different sports were welcomed at Krasnoyarsk Airport before travelling to the Athletes' Village. In the evening, the Russian flag was then raised at a special ceremony, at which Krasnoyarsk Kray Sports Minister Sergei Alexeev and Athletes' Village mayor Maxim Oreshnikov were present.
There have been changes made to the squads of both teams. Men's student national team forwards Mikhail Maltsev (SKA Saint Petersburg) and Alexander Tridchikov (Chelmet Chelyabinsk) have been replaced by Bogdan Yakimov (Severstal) and Alexander Sharov (Sibir Novosobirsk), while for the women's team, forward Landysh Falyakhova (SKIF) has taken the place of Diana Kanaeva (Dynamo Saint Petersburg).
On March 1, the men's team play Slovakia, while the women take on Switzerland in the opening matches of the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk.
