2019 W18 World Championship. Russia - Finland

In the third place playoff of the 2019 IIHF W18 World Championship, the under 18 Russian women's national team will take on Finland in Japan.

On Saturday, Russia were close to making the final, but the team came up short in a disappointing 3:4 overtime loss to Canada. In the quarter-finals, the Russians defeated Switzerland 2:1 on penalty shots after beating Sweden 5:3 in the group stages alongside losses to the Canadians (1:5) and the USA (2:3).

For their part, Finland were thrashed by the Americans in the semi-final, losing 1:7. They had beaten Sweden 3:2 in overtime in the quarter-finals and saw off the challenge of Japan (2:1), Switzerland (4:2) and the Czech Republic (2:1) in Group B.

Puck drop is scheduled for 07:00 Moscow time.
