In the second friendly match ahead of the 2019 IIHF W18 World Championship in Japan, the under 18 Russian national team lost 0:4 to Canada.
During the first period, the Canadians managed to open up a 2:0 lead, before they struck once in both the second and third periods to complete a 4:0 win.
On January 6, Russia W18 wil play their first match of the competition against the USA.
