Friendly match. Russia U20 - Sweden U20 - 2:4

In Canada, the under 20 Russian national team lost 2:4 to Sweden in a friendly match which was held as a part of the ongoing preparations for the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Initially, Alexander Romanov gave Russia the lead in the first period with a wonderful wrist shot, however Sweden came roaring back in the second frame. Erik Brannstrom and Samuel Fagemo handed Sweden the initiative, and despite Vitaly Kravtsov equalising, Emil Bemstrom and Johan Sodergran netted in the third stanza to seal a 4:2 Swedish triumph.

Russia will take on the USA in two days' time in another exhibition game.
