Summary of the Russian national teams' performances

We summarise the performances of all of the Russian national teams playing in their respective tournaments this week.
SENIOR RUSSIAN NATIONAL TEAM
Tournament: Channel One Cup, 1st place
Results:
Sweden - Russia - 2:3 SO
Russia - Czech Republic - 7:2
Russia - Finland - 5:0
Hosting the annual Channel One Cup, which is the second stage of the 2018/2019 Euro Hockey Tour campaign, Russia comfortably claimed first place with three victories in as many games. In the first match, the players were close to defeat, however a superb third period against the Swedes saved the game at the Legends Park in Moscow. The 5:0 thrashing of Finland was witnessed by over 71,000 fans inside the huge Gazprom Arena in Saint Petersburg. Mikhail Grigorenko (top scorer), Nikita Gusev (best forward), Vasily Tokranov (best defenseman) and Ilya Sorokin (best goalkeeper) were handed individual awards.
RUSSIAN OLYMPIC TEAM
Tournament: Luzern Cup, 1st place
Results:
Russia - Slovakia - 2:1
Switzerland - Russia - 1:5
In Switzerland, the Russian Olympic team were perfect at the 2018 Luzern Cup, defeating Slovakia 2:1 and Switzerland 5:1 to deservedly win the trophy!
RUSSIA U18
Tournament: Challenge Cup, 2nd place
Results:
Canada East - Russia - 3:5
Russia - Czech Republic - 4:2
Russia - Canada West - 3:0
Russia - USA - 4:3
Russia - Czech Republic - 4:1
Russia - USA - 0:2
Up until the final, the under 18 Russian national team had enjoyed a faultless 2018 World Challenge Cup in Bonnyville, Canada, however the players were left heartbroken after a thoroughly disappointing 0:2 loss to the USA in the final. Nevertheless, they return home with a proud silver medal to show for their efforts.
RUSSIA U17
Tournament: Four Nations, 1st place
Results:
Russia - Switzerland - 9:1
Slovakia - Russia - 1:6
USA - Russia - 4:2
USA - Russia - 2:3 OT
Thanks to a highly dramatic 3:2 victory against the Americans in the showpiece final, the under 17 Russian national team won a gold medal at the Four Nations competition which was held in the USA!

Tournament: Four Nations, 4th place
Results:
Russia - Norway - 1:2
France - Russia - 3:1
Czech Republic - Russia - 2:4
Unfortunately, the senior Russian women's national team stuggled at the Four Nations, coming in last place of the tournament table after losing to Norway and France. However, in the concluding competition match, the team did beat winners the Czech Republic 4:2.

Czech Republic - Russia - 1:0
Russia - Sweden - 4:2
Despite losing the first two games against Finland and the Czechs in Stupino, the players recovered to sign off from the tournament with a gritty 4:2 win over Sweden and finish in second spot.
