CIBC Canada Russia Series. Russia U20 - Team QMJHL - 3:2 OT

In the sixth and deciding match of the 2018 CIBC Canada Russia Series, the under 20 Russian national team defeated Team QMJHL 3:2 in overtime, in turn winning the competition for the first time since 2014!

For today's match, Daniil Tarasov took the place of Pyotr Kochetkov in net, while Alexander Lyakhov (defenseman), Evgeny Kanitsky (forward), Maxim Marushev (forward) and Artyom Nikolaev (forward) were all healthy scratches.

After 40 minutes of play, the QMJHL had a 1:0 lead, but the third period was a real thriller. Stepan Starkov equalised, but after the Canadians had gained another advantage, Dmitry Zavgorodniy saved the game with a mere 14 seconds remaining to take the match into overtime.

In the extra frame, Saveliy Olshanskiy netted the winner, sealing the 2018 CIBC Canada Russia Series triumph!
