The June session has finished at the Sirius Educational Centre

At the Sirius Educational Centre in Sochi, the June session has reached its completion, where players of the under 16 Russian national team and from the five top regional teams trained. The training camp took place between the 1st and 24th of June.

Together with specialists from the Sirius Educational Centre, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation puts on both practical sessions on the ice and theory lessons. In June, these following events were held for coaches and players:

- Lecture from N. Uryupin, the head of the RIHF's ice hockey department, on the history of developing ice hockey, matters concerning coaches' qualification and creating a yearly training program;
- Lecture from A. Bukatina, the head of the RIHF scientific and methodical department, on planning the training process of training ice hockey players which are 15-16 years of age;
- Lecture from E. Morozova, the head of the RIHF medical department, on anti-doping rules, violation prevention and features of sports nutrition;
- Testing of special physical and technical equipment aimed at monitoring the training of young players. D. Polyanchikov, the main specialist of the RIHF scientific department, ran the seminar.

These events have become a tradition for the RIHF. Their aim is to increase the training levels of players, as well as improving the theory and practical knowledge of coaches who work with young ice hockey players.

In addition, within the framework of the June session, the 2018 Sirius Cup was held with Russia U16 and players of the best five regional teams competing. Alexander Savchenkov was coaching the under 16 Russian side which won the competition with a positive goal difference of 23-6 from five matches.
