2018 World Championship. Russia - Canada

On May 17, the senior Russian national team will play Canada in the 2018 World Championship quarter-final stage.
Russia finished in second place of Group A, beating France (7:0), Austria (7:0), Belarus (6:0), Switzerland (4:3) and Slovakia (4:0) while losing to the Czech Republic (3:4 OT) and Sweden (1:3). Boasting 16 points from seven matches, our team also registered a positive goal difference of 32-10.
On the other hand, Canada could only take third place of Group B, defeating South Korea (10:0), Denmark (7:1), Norway (5:0), Germany (3:0), Latvia (2:1 OT) and dropping defeats against the USA (4:5 SO) and Finland (1:5). Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid is the top Canadian scorer with 13 (5+8) points.
Puck drop is scheduled for 17:15 Moscow time. Channel One will broadcast live in Russia.
