2018 World Championship. Czech Republic U18 - Russia U18 - 2:3

In Chelyabinsk, the under 18 Russian national team defeated the Czech Republic in the second 2018 World Championship group stage match.

The Czechs played an aggressive style of game in the opening period, breaking the deadlock after 17 minutes when Jakub Lauko beat Russian goalkeeper Amir Miftakhov on the powerplay.

Nevertheless, our players made a large improvement in the second frame. Ivan Morozov equalised, making the game 1:1 before the crucial third frame.

Russia came good in the final stanza, scoring further goals through Vasily Podkolzin and Pavel Dorofeev. Vojtech Strondala did grab a reply for the Czech Republic late on, but our team held on to the 3:2 win.
