Euro Hockey Challenge. Norway - Russia - 0:2

In Norway, the Russian national team defeated the hosts 2:0 in the first Euro Hockey Challenge match between the two countries.

The Norwegians started in aggressive fashion, testing Russian goalkeeper Igor Shestyorkin when on the powerplay. However, as time rolled on, the tempo increased and Russia found more space on the ice to create opportunities.

Alexander Dergachyov opened the scoring shorthanded in the second period, beating the goalkeeper when clean through. Defenseman Alexander Elesin doubled the advantage twelve minutes later, hitting the jackpot from the doorstep.

Russia kept Norway on the outside during the third period, coasting to a 2:0 victory.
