02.04.2018
This is the sixth time when SKODA will hold a youth competition with the support of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation. Eight teams made up of players born in 2005-2006 from Europe and Russia will participate at the tournament. All games will be hosted by Yekaterinburg's Uralets Complex. The 2018 SKODA Junior International Hockey Cup is a unique opportunity for young players to show their quality at a professional level and feel the atmosphere of a major continental tournament.

The tournament is designed to help develop youth ice hockey in Russia as a part of the Red Machine National Development Program. Legendary ice hockey player Alexei Morozov will hold a master-class in connection with the National Development Program which represents the new philosophy of training young players. The program developed by the RIHF will be introduced to seven inter-regional coordination centres and includes more than 600 ice hockey schools.

According to the competition's rules, the teams will be separated into two groups of four. All teams will play three matches and the top two qualify for the semi-final stage.

The management of Sverdlovsk Region, Yekaterinburg, the SKODA company and the RIHF will participate in the opening ceremony, alongside ice hockey legends and HC Avtomobilist players.

SKODA have supported the IIHF World Championship for more than 25 years. Since 2010, SKODA AUTO Russia have been a partner of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and the senior Russian men's national team.
