The Sports House has opened in Gangneung

On February 9, the grand opening of the Sports House took place in Gangneung. The Sports House, organised by the Russian Athletes Support Fund with the support of Liga Stavok, will be open between 12:00 and 22:00 until February 25.

Events will be held at the Sports House emphasising Russian hospitality, including meeting legendary athletes, drinking Russian tea from a real Tula samovar with pancakes and gingerbreads and watching Olympic broadcasts with Liga Stavok experts. There will also be an interactive exhibit at the Sports House dedicated to winter sports which has photographs, artefacts and other materials. English speaking guides will put on tours around the exhibit. The Sports House will allow even foreign visitors to get closer to Russian winter sports and the country's culture.

Liga Stavok, the project's partner, is the first Russian bookmaking company to actively support Russian sport. Since 2017, the company has cooperated with the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and is the national team's exclusive bookmaking company.

The Russian Embassy in South Korea supported the organisation of the Sports House.

- Despite all of the connected problems, we take a lot of pride in Russian athletes competing in the Olympic Games. We believe in them and are proud of them. Hopefully, they can achieve high sporting results here and glorify our wonderful motherland.

- Thank you to everyone who came here today. For twenty years, our fund has hosted around seventy charity events. However, this event is probably the most important because of the difficult situation surronding our Olympic team. Our athletes and coaches need the fans' support.

The Sports House's doors are open for everyone who wants to get closer to the history of Russian sport and feel the Russian hospitality which the whole world knows of.
