RIHF president Vladislav Tretyak:

- I am very happy, that this tournament has now become traditional. Every time it is held at a high level.  I myself come to the competition almost every year, and I can see how professional it is. I would like to express my thanks to the ministry of sport for the organisation of this tournament. At the moment, our main goal is to bring up young ice hockey players in the right way. As in any competition, here there are both strong, and weak, teams. However, we will see the birth of new champions here. I want to thank the govenor for giving high attention to sport, and for the fact that ten new ice hockey rinks have been opened here during the past few years. Nevertheless, we still need more, because many people here want to play ice hockey or begin figure skating. We want to create good facilities for the young, and allow them to lead a healthy and sporting lifestyle.
