Russia - Switzerland. Press-conference

14.05.2016

Russian head coach Oleg Znarok:

- I congratulate everyone with the win. It was a very physical game from both teams, and we did a good job.

- Despite having lots of powerplay time, all goals came at full strength.

- Some of our guys have only just arrived, and hopefully things will improve in the future.

- Why was Sergei Bobrovsky replaced by Ilya Sorokin in the first period?

- It was down to IIHF technical reasons, after Sergei came too close to the bench during a break.

- Will you find different line mates for Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov? And are Alexei Marchenko and Anton Belov your top defensive partnership?

- I won’t speak about who are my best defensemen. Alexander Burmistrov did well, and Sergei Shirokov impressed in the third period. Stepan Sannikov also showed a good game.

- When will Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Dmitry Orlov reach their peak form?

- It will take five or seven days for them to acclimatize.

Swiss head coach Patrick Fischer:

- First of all, I would like to congratulate Oleg and his team with the victory. We wanted to come out strong, and make it tough for the Russians. They have a very fast and strong team. Unfortunately, we couldn’t score first, and we made a mistake for their first goal. Nevertheless, it was still an open game, and we did have chances. We couldn’t get that goal early enough, and in the future we will have to make less mistakes.

- When Russia scored their first and fourth goals, there was possible interference against the goaltender and defensemen.

- It was a fast game. I haven’t see the video yet, but I am not mad at the referees. They tried to do their best too, I have no complaints.
