New Red Machine program at the Artek Children's International Centre
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) and the Artek International Children's Centre are conducting a comprehensive physical education and sports "Red Machine – Learn, Act, Achieve!" program.
The training camp for young players from across the country is taking place at the children's camp. The program's key activities include a variety of theoretical and practical classes led by RIHF coaches and specialists.
One of the theoretical classes was devoted to the comprehensive development of young athletes. RIHF coaches and invited experts discussed athletic goals with the participants and the importance of developing children having a balanced upbringing which includes education and sport.
The class began with a discussion about balancing hockey, studies and personal interests.
Particular attention was paid to the fundamentals of a healthy lifestyle and the role of proper nutrition in an athlete's life. In an interactive format, participants explored the principles of recovery, the importance of sleep and daily routine, and learned how a balanced diet impacts the body's resources, concentration and performance level. Experts emphasised that taking care of your health is a long-term investment not only in your athletic career, but also in your overall quality of life.
