17.09.2025
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) can confirm that the 2025 Channel One Cup will take place in Novosibirsk.
The competition, which will involve reigning champions Russia 25 and the senior Belarusian and Kazakh national teams, will be staged at the Sibir Arena between the 11th and 14th of December.
Furthermore, the RIHF is currently holding conversations with a fourth participant, whose name will soon be released.
Novosibirsk has already proven itself to be one of Russia's ice hockey development hubs. Major competitions, which generate large interest among the locals, are often held at the city's main stadium.
The 2025 Channel One Cup will form a new chapter of Novosibirsk's ice hockey story.
RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:
"Back in my day, the stars of the USSR Championship played outdoors in Novosibirsk in temperatures of -30 centigrade! I participated in such games. Now, the city will host the senior Russian national team for the first time. The Channel One Cup is always a huge event, with Soviet legends such as Kharlamov, Mikhailov, Petrov, Krutov, Makarov, Bure and others having participated in it in the past. Novosibirsk deserves to host this competition. After all, it's one of the oldest ice hockey regions of our country which is a hub for the sport's development. The city and Novosibirsk Region overall have fantastic fans. Thanks to them, the atmosphere at the Sibir Arena is incredible, with attendance records for our junior international tournaments being broken on a yearly basis! More than 10 thousand people attend them."
