Reaction after beating Belarus in Minsk

08.05.2025
Interviews were taken following the concluding match of the 2025 Liga Stavok National Team Tour against Belarus in Minsk.

Head coach Roman Rotenberg:

"We put together a new group for this tour, with only five players having competed at the Channel One Cup in December. We're grateful to the more experienced players who made it easy for everyone to become settled in the team. Andrei Mishurov played at hsi best today, he's an excellent goalkeeper who performed well for his KHL club this season.

"Prokhor Poltapov? It could have been worse, but thankfully he will only be on the sidelines for two months with his injury. The results of this tour? The main thing is that we won ahead of Victory Day. Belarus have a strong team, they're capable of qualifying for the knockout stage of the World Championship. Overall, we're pleased that we've already achieved 20 victories against such a strong opponent which consists of players representing Dinamo Minsk, who reached the quarter-finals of this year's Gagarin Cup playoffs."

Goalkeeper Andrei Mishurov:

"You always feel good after winning. Yes, this tour wasn't the best for us in terms of results, but we're happy that we won our final game ahead of the summer break. We found strength from within to defeat Belarus on their territory.

"My feelings from playing for Russia? Regardless of the competition or level, it's always prestigious to play for the Russian national team. Thank you to our fans for their fantastic support!"
