Vladislav Tretiak visited the Vostochny Cosmodrome

President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) Vladislav Tretiak visited the Vostochny Cosmodrome in the Far East.

During the tour, he became acquainted with the key objects of the space infrastructure, while assessing the scale and technological capabilities of the cosmodrome. The head of the cosmodrome Valinur Agishev showed Tretiak the launch complexes for launching Soyuz-2 medium-class rockets and Angara heavy-class rockets as well as the technical complex, where the full cycle of preparation of a space rocket for launch is carried out before being transported to the launch pad.



Tretiak left a memorable entry in the Book of Honoured Guests, which is kept in the Vostochny Cosmodrome Museum, and also presented valuable gifts with personal autographs. The program of Tretiak's visit also included a visit to the closed city of Tsiolkovsky, where the cosmodrome employees live. The three-time Olympic champion and ten-time world champion visited the city's sports centre, where he participated in the opening faceoff draw of a friendly ice hockey match with the participation of local residents. Tretiak held conversations with coaches and players of different ages, giving recommendations with regard to the development of ice hockey in Tsiolkovsky. He also organised an autograph session.
