Nikolai Puchkov Tournament. Russia U23 - Ak Bars - 4:2

The under 23 Russian national team got back to winning ways at the Nikolai Puchkov Tournament in impressive fashion, defeating KHL giants Ak Bars Kazan 4:2 at the Ice Palace.
Yegor Morozov opened the scoring on the powerplay in the 10th minute, but Ak Bars quickly equalised less than two minutes later. Nevertheless, Denis Komkov subsequently reinstated our advantage in the second stanza, before the Tatar opponents drew level again in the 49th minute.
Russia weren't to be denied, though, as Daniil Lazutin immediately grabbed our fourth and Vladislav Romanov hit the empty net with a mere 45 seconds remaining on the clock.
Our players' next game at the competition will take place against competition hosts SKA Saint Petersburg on Thursday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 19:30 Moscow time.
