01.08.2024
In preparation for the new season, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), together with the All-Russian Board of Referees, held a webinar for referees concerning the "Overview of Changes to the Rules of the Sport of Ice Hockey" and "Refereeing Standards for Children's and Youth Competitions" topics.

During the webinar, the head of the Referee Training and Methodology Centre of the RIHF's Refereeing Department, Alexander Polyakov, spoke about the main changes in the rules which will come into force from the 2024/2025 season, while also presenting video materials which clearly illustrate the innovations.

Particular emphasis was placed on referees' compliance with the refereeing standard for a unified approach to making decisions in controversial situations. In the upcoming campaign, referees will pay more attention to restraining penalties and dangerous actions by players which can result in injuries being sustained.

In addition, the referees' attention was drawn to compliance with the requirements for medical support during matches and the inadmissibility of starting official matches in the absence of qualified medical workers inside the stadium.
