26.07.2024
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) has considered the proposal put forward by the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) to terminate the agreement with regard to the delegation of the rights of staging the senior Russian men's and women's ice hockey championships and the U21 Russian men's ice hockey championship.

It was subsequently decided to agree with the KHL's proposal and terminate the contracts on 1 August 2024 while complying with these following conditions:

- Mutual respect of contracts of players participating in KHL and RIHF competitions;

- The releasing of KHL players to participate in the Olympic Games, World Championship, World U20 Championship and World U18 Championship, and for breaks in competition play to be organised for the Channel One Cup, World Championship and Olympic Games if the Russian national team is participating;

- Ensuring that every KHL club has a school with teams of at least eight age groups (8 to 16 years of age) which should participate in RIHF tournaments.

The RIHF will continue to hold the senior Russian men's and women's ice hockey championships and the U21 Russian men's ice hockey championship.
