The RIHF extends its condolences

Andrei Tarasenko, a famous ice hockey player and coach, has sadly passed away at the age of 55.

Having progressed through the Novosibirsk system, Andrei notably went on to successfully play for Yaroslavl and Tolyatti. Furthermore, on the international scene, he represented the senior Russian national team at the 1994 Olympic Games, the 1995 World Championship and at various stages of the Euro Hockey Tour.

Andrei subsequently became a member of the Sibir Novosibirsk coaching staff in 2008. He brought up his two sons Vladimir and Valentin, with the former winning the 2011 World Junior Championship and two Stanley Cups in the NHL.

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation extends its deepest condolences to Andrei's loved ones and everyone who knew him.
