SportMed-2023 conference

Between the 7th and 8th of December, the SportMed-2023 international scientific conference on the state and prospects for the development of medicine in elite sport took place.

The event, which was held for the 18th year in a row, was attended by leading industry experts, including employees of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation's medical department. The conference was staged as a part of Russian Healthcare Week.

The participants discussed a number of topical issues which included improving the regulatory and legal regulation of sports medicine, creating a unified digital platform for the FMBA of Russia, experience in medical support for major sporting events, issues of sports cardiology, traumatology and orthopedics, psychology, recovery and rehabilitation, as well as doping control.

Awards for achievements in the field of sports medicine were presented at the conference. The Certificate of Honour of the President of the Russian Federation was received by Egor Kozlov, a candidate of medical sciences, doctor of the highest category, adviser to the first vice-president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation for medicine and chief physician of the Russian national ice hockey team.
