The 69th anniversary of Valery Vasiliev's birthday

Today on the 3rd of August, legendary Soviet ice hockey player Valery Vasiliev would have turned 69 years old. During his career, Valery made 116 appearances for the USSR national team, and during that time became a two time Olympic champion as well as winning the World Championship on eight occasions. 

Valery always gave his all in every match, and such commitment enabled him to win so many titles at the highest level. Sadly, Valery passed away on the 12th of August 2012.
