A memorial to Valeri Vasiliev has been unveiled in Chekhov

In Chekhov, a memorial to Valeri Vasiliev has been unveiled in accordance with the 74th anniversary of his birth.
He would have turned 74 on August 3rd.
During his glittering career, the Dynamo Moscow and Soviet national team defenseman won the Olympic Games twice, the World Championship on eight occasions and the Canada Cup. Furthermore, he also participated in the famous 1972 Super Series.
The unveiling of the memorial was attended by Russian Ice Hockey Federation board member Alexander Steblin, head consultant of Russian national teams Igor Tuzik and his former teammates Stanislav Petukhov, Alexander Maltsev and Vladimir Myshkin.
