Roman Rotenberg has received the Order of Honour
27.07.2023
Roman Rotenberg, the first vice-president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), has been presented with the Order of Honour. The award had been confirmed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in February.
The award was issued as a consequence of successfully preparing athletes for the 2022 Olympic Games which were staged in Beijing, China. Today, during the Russia-Africa summit in Saint Petersburg, Russian Minister of Sport Oleg Matytsin presented Rotenberg with his state award.
First RIHF vice-president Roman Rotenberg:
- It is a huge honour for me to recieve such a high state award. Thank you to all of the players, coaches, staff members and fans who were by our side for the Olympic Games in 2018 and 2022. I would also like to extend by gratitude to the partners of the RIHF, Gazprom, Alexei Miller, Nornickel and Vladimir Potanin for their fantastic support. I am grateful to RIHF president Vladislav Tretiak for his wise leadership of the federation and assistance in developing Russian ice hockey. And, of course, a huge thank you goes to the captain of our sport, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. Without his support, it wouldn't have been possible to win anything.
