Nikolai Polyakov was the hero with two superb goals to his name, while Marat Khairullin also hit the jackpot.

Solid goaltender Nikita Serebryakov stopped all 13 Kazakh shots he faced.

Tomorrow, Russia 25 will face the senior Belarusian national team in the second - and concluding - game of the competition.
