First championship
The first USSR ice hockey championship was drawn from December 22, 1946 to January 26, 1947. The championship included two stages: preliminary games in three subgroups, consisting of four teams, and the final tournament. Games were held on natural ice. The winner was the Moscow "Dynamo". The tournament for 4-7 places, in which 4 teams met, was held in Riga and ended with the victory of the local team.
